Des pieds, mon pied (Some feet, My foot)

A short, experimental documentary is framed around her quest for a home, for integration—or as a psychologist in the film states, the quest to "lay down…the heavy bags" she is carrying. Des pieds takes the perspective of Kanor’s feet as she tries to find the roots of her past, and her place in the present, with them.

Saint Marie is a municipality of fields and water formely covered with arrows cannes and with inhabiting, located in the North of Martinique. In this northen Atlantic area resounds the "bélè", a country music and a dance wich nobody knows when it appeared but wich was carried by great men, most of them being dead now. Emile Caserus known as Milo was one of them. This documentary is a free portray of this gifted man.

Au Nord de la Martinique se niche Sainte-Marie, commune de champs et d’eau, jadis coiffée de flèches-cannes et d’habitations. Dans ce Nord atlantique-là, résonne le bélè, cette musique rurale, cette danse racine, née on ne sait plus quand, portée par de grands hommes qui, pour la plupart, ont disparu. Emile casérus, appelé Ti Emile, fut l’un de ces maîtres-bélè. Ce documentaire est un portrait libre de cet homme d’exceptionnel talent.
